The Role
- As a Community Chemotherapy Nurse, you'll work independently across Suffolk while remaining fully supported by an experienced clinical team.
- Delivering systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT) and chemotherapy treatments within patients' homes.
- Administering treatment to oncology and haematology patients safely and in line with national guidelines.
- Completing holistic clinical assessments before every treatment.
- Cannulation, venepuncture and vascular access management.
- Monitoring patients throughout treatment and responding appropriately to any adverse reactions.
- Maintaining accurate electronic patient records and documentation.
- Providing education, reassurance and ongoing support to patients and their families.
- Working collaboratively with hospitals, consultants and multidisciplinary teams to ensure outstanding continuity of care.
About You
- You'll be a confident clinician who enjoys working autonomously while putting patient care at the heart of everything you do.
- Active NMC registration (Adult Nurse/RGN).
- Experience delivering chemotherapy or SACT treatments.
- Competency in the administration of cytotoxic drugs.
- Strong cannulation and venous access skills.
- Excellent communication and assessment skills.
- A full UK driving licence.
