We're recruiting for an experienced Orthopaedic Scrub Lead (Practice Educator) to join a well-established private hospital with a busy and varied orthopaedic service. The Role
- As Orthopaedic Scrub Lead (Practice Educator), you'll combine hands-on clinical practice with leadership and education, supporting the development of the theatre team while ensuring the highest standards of patient care across a wide range of orthopaedic procedures.
- Working closely with the Theatre Manager and multidisciplinary team, you'll act as a clinical role model, mentor colleagues and help create a positive learning culture within the department.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the Orthopaedic Scrub team during elective surgery.
- Deliver exceptional standards of patient care throughout the perioperative pathway.
- Mentor, coach and support the professional development of theatre staff.
- Help create a positive learning environment for newly qualified and experienced practitioners.
- Promote best practice, patient safety and continuous quality improvement.
- Support service development and departmental initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with clinical governance, infection prevention and theatre standards.
- Work across a varied orthopaedic caseload including joint replacement, spinal and trauma procedures.

What We're Looking For
- Registered Nurse (NMC) or Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC).
- Significant experience as an Orthopaedic Scrub Practitioner.
- Previous leadership, mentorship or Practice Educator experience is highly desirable.
- Excellent knowledge of perioperative standards and clinical governance.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for developing others and promoting best practice.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
