Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily ward operations, workforce planning and safe staffing, aligned to budgetary guidelines.
  • Provide clinical and professional leadership, including supervision, mentorship and role‐modelling.
  • Monitor and develop clinical competence across the team, maintaining high standards of care.
  • Drive evidence‐based practice and service improvement, working with patients, families and stakeholders.

About You

  • 5+ years post‐registration experience, including 3+ years within an inpatient surgical ward setting.
  • Proven experience leading and developing a ward team, including competency monitoring and clinical governance.
  • Experience teaching, assessing or mentoring junior staff within a surgical environment.
