Hybrid | Regional role | Strategic L&D leadership
Are you an experienced Learning & Development professional who thrives on influence, challenge, and real-world impact? We are looking for a Learning & Development Partner to act as the strategic L&D lead for an operational region. This is not a delivery-heavy trainer role; it’s a true partnering position, working at pace with senior operational and clinical leaders to shape capability, performance, and learning quality across complex services.
The opportunity
You’ll own and deliver a regionally aligned learning strategy, working closely with Regional Service Directors, Operations Directors, Quality and Clinical leaders to ensure learning activity is risk-based, future-focused, and genuinely improves outcomes. You’ll bring discipline, consistency, and professional L&D oversight while still being pragmatic about what works on the ground.
What you’ll be doing
- Creating and owning a single annual regional learning plan, aligned to operational priorities, regulatory requirements, workforce risk and capability gaps
- Acting as the strategic L&D partner to regional leadership teams, influencing decisions and priorities
- Monitoring delivery and impact of learning activity, identifying risks, gaps, and opportunities for improvement
- Quality assuring training delivery - observing sessions, coaching facilitators, and ensuring consistency and accuracy
- Feeding insight and intelligence into the central L&D curriculum and portfolio, shaping future strategy
- Using data, feedback, and performance indicators to evaluate what’s landing and what isn’t
What we’re looking for
- CIPD Level 5 in Learning & Development (or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles, L&D governance, and Learning Needs Analysis
- Experience working in complex, regulated environments (healthcare highly desirable)
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and operate as a trusted internal consultant
- Confidence working across multiple sites or regions, balancing competing priorities
- Analytical mindset - comfortable using data to drive decisions and improvement
Why this role stands out
- High autonomy and visibility
- Strategic influence without line management burden
- Real scope to shape learning quality and culture at scale
- Hybrid working with meaningful regional engagement
If you’re motivated by impact over activity, and you want your work to genuinely improve capability, safety, and performance, this is a role where you’ll be heard, trusted, and relied upon. Apply now or contact Callum on 07445309375 at Leaders in Care today. We’d love to hear from you.
