We are working with a forward-thinking local authority in Scotland to recruit an experienced Duty Social Worker to join their Childrens Services team based in Dalkeith. This is a fast-paced, frontline role where your decisions will have an immediate impact on the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
Working within the duty team, you will respond to new referrals and emerging safeguarding concerns, carrying out timely assessments and making clear, evidence-based decisions to ensure children are protected.

- Competitive rate of £43 per hour
- Stable, full-time contract (36 hours per week)
- Monday to Friday working pattern - no weekend requirement

About You:
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- A recognised Social Work qualification
- Registration with the relevant governing body (e.g. SSSC)
- Proven experience within Childrens Services, ideally in a duty or assessment team
- Strong risk assessment and decision-making skills
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and multi-agency working experience
