Board-facing H&S role | Strategic risk and governance | Healthcare environment | Interim contract

Working two days per week, you will advise a senior leadership team on risk exposure, compliance, and risk mitigation during a defined period of change and focus.
This is not an operational advisor role. It is a senior, authoritative position designed for someone comfortable influencing at board and executive level, shaping decisions, and providing assurance in a highly regulated healthcare environment.
Package & Benefits
Β£500 per day, paid on a contract basis plus expenses
Interim contract from early February to the end of May.
Two days per week, offering flexibility alongside other commitments.
About the Company
You will support a large, people-focused healthcare organisation operating in a complex, regulated environment. The culture values professional credibility, proportionate risk management, and informed decision-making at senior level.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the senior subject matter expert on health and safety, advising the executive team on organisational risk and mitigation strategies.
Provide strategic oversight of health and safety frameworks, assurance processes, and governance.
Identify emerging risks within healthcare operations and recommend pragmatic, compliant solutions.
Offer senior-level challenge and guidance rather than day-to-day advisory support.
About You
Proven experience operating as a Head of Health & Safety or equivalent senior H&S leader within healthcare or a similarly regulated sector.
Demonstrable track record of advising boards or senior leadership teams on risk, compliance, and mitigation.
Advanced health and safety qualification or equivalent senior-level professional experience.
If this sounds like a good fit, even if your CV is not fully up to date, we would welcome an initial conversation. Apply within or contact Mike at Leaders in Care for more information or a confidential discussion.
