If you’re an experienced Ofsted Registered Manager looking for a well-supported interim role where you can stabilise, lead, and prepare a home to meet regulatory standards, this contract offers the autonomy and backing to do exactly that. You’ll take charge of a children’s residential service and lead it confidently through its improvement and registration journey. This Ofsted Registered Manager role is suited to someone who enjoys hands-on leadership, clear accountability, and working closely with a local authority that is investing in quality and long-term service development. You’ll have the scope to embed strong practice while being supported by experienced senior leadership.

About the Company

You will be working with a local authority children’s services provider focused on improving outcomes through stable leadership, safe practice, and strong governance. Several new homes are progressing through registration, with clear structures and support in place for managers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the home in line with the Statement of Purpose, Children’s Homes Regulations, and Quality Standards.
  • Manage and support the staff team through effective supervision, leadership, and oversight.
  • Oversee safeguarding, care planning, and risk management to ensure children’s needs are fully met.
  • Drive service improvement and prepare the home for Ofsted registration and inspection.

About You

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or equivalent.
  • Minimum four years experience within children’s residential care.
  • Previous experience successfully completing at least one Ofsted registration.
