The Role

As a Registered Mental Health Nurse, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality, person-centred care within a specialist inpatient setting for children and young people. Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering safe and effective nursing care to young people with complex mental health needs
  • Acting as a named nurse and key worker for allocated patients
  • Contributing to care planning, risk assessments, reviews, and discharge planning
  • Working collaboratively with psychologists, therapists, psychiatrists, educators, and the wider multidisciplinary team
  • Supporting the creation of a safe, nurturing, and recovery-focused environment

About You

  • Active NMC registration as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN)
  • Ideally a minimum of 12 months' post-registration nursing experience
  • A genuine passion for supporting children and young people
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient-centred approach to care
  • Previous experience within CAMHS, inpatient mental health, acute mental health, PICU, rehabilitation, learning disabilities, or other mental health settings would be advantageous, although specialist training will be provided.
