Senior inpatient consultant role within a structured acute service with peer support and service development focus. Pinhoe View is a well-established 36-bed acute inpatient unit caring for women with enduring mental health conditions. You’ll join an experienced medical team alongside another Consultant Psychiatrist and Associate Specialists, embedded within a strong multidisciplinary environment including nursing, occupational therapy, psychology and social work. This post offers genuine clinical responsibility and the opportunity to shape service direction and quality alongside senior leadership.

About the Service
Pinhoe View provides specialist acute care across male and female wards, supporting patients admitted either informally or under the Mental Health Act. The service emphasises safe, evidence-based practice and collaborative clinical leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as Responsible Clinician for allocated ward(s), leading clinical decision-making and risk management.
- Formulate and oversee evidence-based treatment plans.
- Convene and contribute to MDT meetings, ward rounds and CPA reviews.
- Partner with external agencies, advocates and community services to ensure continuity of care.
- Support service improvement initiatives, clinical governance and audit activity.
About You
- GMC registration with licence to practise and MRCPsych (or equivalent).
- CCT/CESR in General Adult Psychiatry desirable; candidates with extensive relevant experience will be considered.
- Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician status.
- Demonstrable experience in acute inpatient psychiatry and multidisciplinary leadership.
