Job Title: Teaching Assistant – Ex Armed Forces
Contract Type: Long term
Leader Education are recruiting a Teaching Assistant who would thrive within an alternative provision.
Pupils within this school will have social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), therefore, some experience with SEMH or vulnerable individuals would be ideal.
This Teaching Assistant role is aimed toward individuals with previous Armed Forces experience due to the range of transferable skills that can be brought to the role. Individuals who possess leadership experience can engage SEMH pupils through an assertive and disciplined approach.
The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30 until 16:30 and is a long-term position.
The successful candidate will:
- Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
- Have experience of working in a transferable role
- Follow personalised curriculum\’s and care plans to meet pupil\’s requirements
- Work with the pupils on both a 1:1 basis and in group settings, communicating effectively
- Participate in the planning and implementation of the child\’s curriculum through lesson planning
- Set up lessons, equipment, and activities within the classrooms
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other teams to create a holistic supportive environment for the pupil
