About This Role

Leader Group is proud to be partnering with a renowned Therapeutic Education Service provider to recruit passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistants. We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our team in Buxton, Derbyshire. This role will involve mentoring, supporting, and inspiring learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in various educational settings, including the classroom, home tuition, outreach programmes, and outdoor activities. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in the development of students' academic and personal growth. You will assist in preparing learning materials, contribute to the delivery of learning objectives, and maintain a strong focus on behavioural management. You will also interact with parents/caregivers and provide daily reports on learners' progress and barriers to learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mentoring and supporting students with SEND in the classroom, through home tuition, outreach, and outdoor activities
  • Assisting in the preparation of learning materials and supporting the delivery of learning objectives
  • Maintaining a strong focus on behavioural management and promoting a positive learning environment
  • Writing daily reports on students' progress and identifying barriers to learning
  • Regular communication with parents/caregivers to update on students' progress

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • A passionate and committed approach to working with students with SEND
  • At least two years of experience working in a SEND environment or similar provision/unit
  • A Level 3 TA qualification is advantageous but not essential
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and staff
