Leader Education are recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to work within an alternative provision. This role involves working with pupils who cannot access mainstream education due to their Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH) and behavioural needs, therefore resilience and dedication is key. This role focuses on empowering pupils to become confident, capable learners while providing tailored support to meet their diverse needs. The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30 until 16:30 and is a long-term position.
The successful candidate will:
- Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update system or a willingness to obtain one
- Provide tailored support to pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs, both 1:1 and in group settings
- Have experience working with individuals with more challenging behaviour
- Establish a supportive and consistent relationship, promoting a positive learning experience
- Develop a knowledge and understanding of the academic, emotional, and behavioural needs of the child and respond to these effectively
- Be flexible and resilient
