Overview
Leader Group is delighted to partner with a dynamic and nurturing independent special school in Worksop to recruit an enthusiastic and committed SENDCo. This is a full-time permanent role, ideal for an experienced education professional passionate about inclusive practice and transformational leadership.
Position: SENDCo
Location: Knutsford
Salary: Up to Β£50,000 (dependent on experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Responsibilities
- Support the strategic development of SEND provision across the school
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of the SEND policy and coordinate targeted provision for pupils with SEN or disabilities
- Conduct Annual, Interim, and Emergency Reviews of EHCPs in line with the SEND Code of Practice
- Lead on interventions to support pupils\\\β academic, social, and emotional progress
- Provide professional guidance to staff and work collaboratively with parents, carers, and external agencies
- Monitor and quality assure Teaching & Learning with a focus on SEND
- Oversee Looked After Children (LAC) and attend/review PEP meetings
- Advise on the effective use of the SEND budget and resources
- Line manage and deploy staff to maximise the impact of SEND provision
- Champion inclusion and ensure all pupils access a broad, balanced, and ambitious curriculum
Qualifications & Requirements
- Accredited SENDCo qualification
- Hold QTS or QTLS
- Proven leadership experience within a school setting
- A passion for inclusive education and supporting vulnerable learners
- Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and best practice
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
