We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our small, supportive team at a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in Scunthorpe. If you are passionate about helping children and young people with additional needs succeed both academically and personally, we would love to hear from you.
About the Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with SEMH and other additional needs such as ASD, ADHD, and communication difficulties. Working closely with teachers and therapists, you will help create a calm, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment where every child feels safe, valued, and inspired to learn.
Your day might include:
- Supporting individual or small groups of pupils in lessons and enrichment activities
- Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation through empathy and consistency
- Helping to plan and deliver creative learning experiences that build confidence and resilience
- Tracking progress and celebrating every small success
- Working collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals

- Experience in an SEN or SEMH setting (school, youth work, or similar)
- Level 3 TA qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
