Leader Education are recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist primary school in Middlesbrough. The school is an outstanding, split-site provision supporting pupils aged 4 to 11 with a wide range of learning needs, including Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) and Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC). The school provides specialist education for pupils across the Stockton-on-Tees borough and currently supports around 170 pupils across its two sites. The school offers a highly specialised, semi-formal curriculum delivered by a skilled and supportive team.
The successful candidate will be passionate about supporting children with additional needs and will bring either relevant experience or strong transferable skills to the role. Graduates are encouraged to apply. The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30 until 15:30.
The successful candidate will:
- Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or a willingness to obtain one
- Have a background working in education or relevant experience
- Experience working with children with SEND or vulnerable individuals
- Work effectively with parents, carers, and other members of multidisciplinary teams to provide the best support
- Be confident in working alongside students, ensuring they are fully supported within their learning and general classroom activities
- Possess communication skills that can be personalised to suit students of different abilities
