About the Role:

As Pastoral Lead, you will play a central role in promoting positive behaviour, student wellbeing, and safeguarding across the school. You will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team, Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), SENDCo, and other staff to ensure every student receives the emotional, behavioural, and academic support they need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

Champion the school\’s ethos, vision, and values, promoting pride, purpose, and positivity

Model professionalism, fairness, and firm but compassionate leadership

Collaborate with the DSL to safeguard all students and support welfare needs

Be a welcoming, respectful point of contact for parents, carers, and visitors

Monitor, evaluate, and support interventions for vulnerable student groups

Lead on behaviour support strategies and contribute to student Behaviour and Pastoral Support Plans (PSPs) and EHCP targets

Promote and sustain a culture of high expectations and positive behaviour

Work in close partnership with SLT, SENDCo, and teaching staff to support student development

Identify and respond to behavioural and social/emotional barriers to learning

Ideal Candidate Profile:

A strong, student-focused professional with a passion for SEND and inclusion

Minimum 2 years\’ experience in a SEND or SEMH setting

Proven success in a pastoral, behavioural or student support role within education

Confident in managing behaviour and delivering targeted interventions

Empathetic and resilient with outstanding communication and teamworking skills

Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
