Job Description:

Leader Education are recruiting for a Learning Support Assistant to work at a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU). This unit caters children aged from 5-16 years old for permanently excluded pupils, those identified as close to permanent exclusion and those who cannot attend school because of health needs. The ideal candidate will be compassionate and patient as well as some relevant experience working alongside young people that may demonstrate elements of challenging behaviour.

The most recent Ofsted inspection for this PRU was reported as \”Good\” with their core values being growth, respect, opportunity and well-being and continuing to enable pupils to succeed through targeted interventions and programmes.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Some experience working with or alongside pupils that may exhibit some elements of challenging behaviour is desirable
  • A compassionate, resilient and patient personality
  • A great understanding of safeguarding and the welfare of children and young people
  • Be familiar with some tailored interventions and programmes that are used to support children and young people experiencing
