Headteacher – SEMH Independent School
Location: Doncaster
Salary: Up to £70K – Depending on experience
Contract: Full-time, Permanent

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Headteacher for SEMH independent schools in Barnsley. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of both schools, ensuring the highest standards of education, leadership, and safeguarding.
Responsibilities
- Lead with vision – set clear objectives and establish policies to achieve outstanding outcomes for all pupils
- Inspire and manage – provide strategic direction and line management for the Senior Leadership Team
- Drive academic excellence – oversee the curriculum, monitor pupil progress, and set high expectations for teaching and learning
- Ensure safeguarding excellence – lead on Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) compliance across both sites
- Prepare for Ofsted – lead on inspections, ensuring the schools meet and exceed independent school standards
- Develop staff – implement training and development programmes to empower the team
- Manage resources effectively – oversee budgets, staffing, and the delivery of the School Development Plan
What We\’re Looking For
- A visionary leader with a passion for improving SEND/SEMH education
- A qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS) with a minimum of two years\’ experience in a SEND/SEMH setting
- Proven ability to lead and inspire teams while driving continuous improvement
- Strong knowledge of Ofsted requirements and independent school standards
- Experience in curriculum leadership and school development planning
- A strategic thinker with excellent communication and problem-solving skills
