Leader Education are recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to work within a SEND school in Yorkshire. The school supports pupils aged 3 to 16 with a range of specific learning difficulties; therefore, knowledge of EHCPs is essential. Ofsted has praised the school for creating high-quality learning opportunities in a warm, welcoming, and inspiring environment, where staff are highly supportive of every pupil. The school operates across both primary and secondary sites, each providing an inclusive and supportive community for staff and students.
The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30 until 16:30 and is a long-term position.
The successful candidate will:
- Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update system or a willingness to obtain one
- Have relevant experience – with SEND or vulnerable individuals
- Establish a supportive and consistent relationship, promoting a positive learning experience
- Develop a knowledge and understanding of the academic, emotional, and behavioural needs of the child and respond to these effectively
- Be flexible and resilient
- Possess good classroom skills
