Reporting directly to the Depot Team Leader, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods and materials to designated locations. The role involves operating various vehicles, ensuring compliance with traffic laws, maintaining the vehicle in good condition, and providing excellent customer service at all times. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate vehicle to transport goods to specified destinations following schedules and planned routes.
  • Use navigation systems to optimise travel routes and avoid traffic delays.
  • Adhere to all road safety and traffic regulations, conduct daily vehicle checks, and report maintenance or delivery issues timely.
  • Ensure safety of passengers and goods during transit, including accurate loading, unloading, and secure packing.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness, perform basic maintenance tasks, and report servicing requirements.
  • Complete delivery paperwork, obtain necessary signatures, and maintain accurate records of mileage and fuel consumption.
  • Provide courteous and professional service to customers, showing dignity and respect at all times.

Qualifications

  • Valid UK driving licence (Category B or C appropriate for vehicle type).
