About The Role

Specialise in leading and delivering Science up to GCSE level to KS3 and KS4 aged pupils with ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition) and additional needs.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching and supporting students with a range of special educational needs (SEN).
  • Teach pupils aged KS3 and KS4.
  • Deliver engaging and tailored Science lessons to individual learning needs.
  • Setting, marking and providing constructive feedback on assignments, homework, and assessments.
  • Supporting pupils in gaining a strong command of spoken and written English, enabling them to communicate confidently and effectively.

Ideal Candidate

  • Passionate about working with students with SEND needs.
  • Specialism in teaching Science is essential.
  • Experience – ideally with at least 2 years in a SEND environment or similar setting supporting pupils with ASC and additional needs, including mainstream schools.
  • Qualified – QTS is essential.
  • Understands EHCPs and autism‑informed practice.
  • Calm, organised and passionate about teaching and making a difference.
