Leader Education are recruiting enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistants to work in specialist schools across Greater Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities including SEMH, ASD, ADHD and learning difficulties. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will support students both academically and emotionally, helping them engage with lessons, build confidence and achieve their full potential. Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional learning needs. Support students with SEMH, autism, ADHD or other SEND requirements. Adapt learning activities to suit individual learning styles. Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to implement support plans. Encourage positive behaviour, engagement and independence in the classroom. Monitor progress and report updates to teaching staff. Requirements Previous experience working with SEND pupils or young people. Understanding of SEMH needs and additional learning needs. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Calm, patient and supportive approach. Ability to work collaboratively within a school team. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Enhanced Child or Child and Adults DBS (default to Enhanced Child). If you do not have one, you can apply for DBS through Leader Education.
