Leader Education are recruiting a Special Needs Classroom Assistant to work at a small SEND school based in Bedale. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting students with SEND and/or PMLD. The school has ages ranging from 2 – 16-year-old and pride themselves on creating relationships, purposeful and stimulating environments and learning opportunities that encourage children to thrive.
Their latest Ofsted rating was presented as \”Good\” as they continue to create a vibrant, enjoyable and inclusive space for children.
The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30am until 4.30pm and is a long-term position, given a successful trial.
The successful candidate will have:
- An Enhanced DBS or be willing to gain one
- Educational background or work experience relevant to the position is desirable
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Adaptability and a commitment to meeting the diverse needs of students
- Good communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
- Understanding of the importance of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- The ability to support the pupil in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities
