Leader Group is proud to be representing a specialist independent education provider in recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their close-knit and compassionate team based near Sudbury. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a small SEMH school supporting young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) who require a nurturing and therapeutic learning environment.

About the Role:

We are seeking a committed professional who is passionate about making a genuine difference in the lives of children and young people. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing individual and group support to students both in and out of the classroom.
  • Assisting teachers in delivering engaging, differentiated lessons across the curriculum.
  • Offering care, encouragement and emotional support to help pupils thrive and succeed.
  • Supporting targeted interventions in literacy, numeracy, and social development.
  • Liaising with parents, carers, and external professionals where appropriate.
  • Working collaboratively as part of a strong, supportive team to improve outcomes for all learners.

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Has a genuine passion for supporting students with SEND or SEMH needs.
  • Brings at least two years of experience in a SEN, SEMH, or similar specialist education setting.
  • Holds (or is working towards) a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification – desirable but not essential.
  • Demonstrates resilience, empathy, and a positive, proactive attitude.
  • Enjoys working collaboratively and contributing to a caring school community.
