About the Role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teacher to join our specialist team. This is within a SEMH school based in Wakefield, supporting pupils aged 11-18 with a range of SEN needs, including ADHD, challenging behaviours and autism.

The successful candidate will:

Plan and deliver engaging lessons, working with small groups and individual students.
Create tailored teaching materials, take registers, and write detailed progress reports.
Support students in building confidence and independence, fostering a lifelong love of learning.
Manage classroom behaviour effectively while maintaining strong communication with parents and carers.
Incorporate outdoor activities into learning, where appropriate, to enhance student engagement and development.
Ensure the safeguarding and welfare of all students underpin every decision and action.
Deliver high-quality teaching across multiple curriculum subjects, adapting strategies to meet individual needs.
Develop and implement Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and contribute to the Annual Review of EHCPs.
Attend and contribute to PEP reviews, ensuring targets are achieved and the pupil’s voice is heard.

Who We’re Looking For:

The ideal candidate will have:

-A passionate and committed approach to supporting students with SEND.
-A minimum of two years’ experience in a SEND environment, specialist provision, or similar setting.
-Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS (essential).
-Experience with outdoor activities and interventions (advantageous). xiskglj
-Strong behaviour management skills and an understanding of trauma-informed approaches.
