Leader Education is looking for an enthusiastic and committed Sports Coach / PE Assistant to join a SEND school in Ashington, Northumberland. This is a non-teaching role, ideal for someone passionate about sport, physical education, and helping children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) develop confidence, teamwork, and physical skills.
Working Hours: Monday Friday: 8:30am 3:30pm
The Role:
- Delivering engaging sports and PE sessions tailored to pupils with SEND
- Supporting children to develop physical skills, coordination, and teamwork
- Assisting in planning and organising PE and sports activities
- Supporting behaviour management and ensuring a safe, inclusive environment
- Encouraging pupils to achieve their personal best in all activities
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have experience working with children in a sports or PE capacity (SEND experience desirable)
- Be energetic, patient, and adaptable
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Be committed to promoting inclusion and positive engagement in sport
- Hold a DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one
