Leader Group is proud to be representing a specialist independent education provider in recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their close-knit and compassionate team based in Scunthorpe.

As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting pupils with SEMH and other additional needs such as ASD, ADHD, and communication difficulties. Working closely with teachers and therapists, you’ll help create a calm, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment where every child feels safe, valued, and inspired to learn.

Your day might include:

  • Supporting individual or small groups of pupils in lessons and enrichment activities
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation through empathy and consistency
  • Helping to plan and deliver creative learning experiences that build confidence and resilience
  • Tracking progress and celebrating every small success
  • Working collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals

What We’re Looking For:

  • A genuine passion for working with children and young people with additional needs
  • Experience in an SEN or SEMH setting (school, youth work, or similar)
  • Level 3 TA qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
  • Patience, empathy, and a sense of humour essential!
  • The ability to stay calm and positive, even on the challenging days
