Overview: Senior Children’s Residential Support Workers – support children and young people with SEMH, EBD, and complex needs. Shift leader, mentoring junior staff, ensuring high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as Shift Leader – safe and effective day-to-day running of the home
  • Provide child-centred care in line with care plans and risk assessments
  • Support and mentor Residential Support Workers and new starters
  • Promote positive behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies
  • Liaise with managers, social workers and external professionals
  • Ensure accurate recording, incident reports and handovers to Ofsted standards
  • Support safeguarding practices and maintain a safe, nurturing environment

Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum 12 months’ experience in a children’s residential setting
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – essential
  • Experience supporting children with SEMH / EBD / challenging behaviour
  • Ability to lead shifts confidently and support team development
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, Ofsted regulations and care standards
  • Full UK Driving Licence – preferred
  • Flexibility to work days, nights and sleep-ins
