Leader Education are recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to join a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) school based in Durham.

This school caters for young people aged between 2-19 with a diverse range of special educational needs.

This school takes great pride in its dedicated team of professionals, who are passionately committed to helping every pupil reach their full potential.

We welcome applications from recent graduates as well as individuals with relevant experience and transferable skills.

The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30 until 16:30 and is a long-term position given a successful trial day.

Leader Education are dedicated to ensuring that we find adaptable roles and schedules that work effectively for you.

The successful candidate will:

Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
Have experience working in a transferable role
Follow personalised curriculums and care plans to meet pupil\’s requirements
Work with pupils on both a 1:1 basis and in group settings, communicating effectively
Participate in the planning and implementation of the curriculum through lesson planning and delivery
Set up lessons, equipment and activities within the classrooms
Collaborate with teachers, therapists and other teams to create a holistic supportive environment for pupils
