Leader Education are recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to join a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) school based in Durham. This school caters for young people aged between 2-19 with a diverse range of special educational needs. The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30 until 16:30, and the position is a long‑term role following a successful trial day.
The Successful Candidate Will
- Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
- Have experience working in a transferable role
- Follow personalised curriculums and care plans to meet pupils\’ requirements
- Work with pupils on both a 1:1 basis and in group settings, communicating effectively
- Participate in the planning and implementation of the curriculum through lesson planning and delivery
- Set up lessons, equipment and activities within the classrooms
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists and other teams to create a holistic supportive environment for pupils
