Leader Education are seeking an enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join an outstanding SEND secondary school for students aged 11-16. The academy supports approximately 204 pupils with a wide range of complex needs, including severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), autism, and complex medical conditions. The school offers a rich, engaging and highly supportive learning environment, enhanced by exceptional specialist facilities such as a therapy pool and a fully equipped sensory room. These resources are central to helping pupils access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a welcoming team making a genuine difference to the lives of young people every day. This is a long-term position, subject to a successful trial, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm. Leader Education are dedicated to ensuring that we find adaptable roles and schedules that work effectively for you.
The ideal LSA will:
- Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
- Have experience of working in a transferable role
- Work with the pupils on both a 1:1 basis and in group settings, communicating effectively
- Follow personalised curriculum and care plans to meet pupils' requirements
- Participate in the planning and implementation of the child’s curriculum through lesson planning
- Possess good classroom skills
- Set up lessons, equipment, and activities within the classrooms
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other teams to create a holistic supportive environment for the pupil
