Leader Group is delighted to partner with a dynamic and nurturing independent special school in Taunton to recruit an enthusiastic and committed SENDCo. This full‑time permanent role is ideal for an experienced education professional passionate about inclusive practice and transformational leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Support the strategic development of SEND provision across the school
  • Oversee the day‑to‑day operation of the SEND policy and coordinate targeted provision for pupils with SEN or disabilities
  • Conduct Annual, Interim, and Emergency Reviews of EHCPs in line with the SEND Code of Practice
  • Lead on interventions to support pupils’ academic, social and emotional progress
  • Provide professional guidance to staff and work collaboratively with parents, carers, and external agencies
  • Monitor and quality‑assure teaching & learning with a focus on SEND
  • Oversee Looked After Children (LAC) and attend/review PEP meetings
  • Advise on the effective use of the SEND budget and resources
  • Line‑manage and deploy staff to maximise the impact of SEND provision
  • Champion inclusion and ensure all pupils access a broad, balanced, and ambitious curriculum

Requirements

  • Accredited SENDCo qualification
  • Hold QTS or QTLS
  • Proven leadership experience within a school setting
  • A passion for inclusive education and supporting vulnerable learners
  • Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and best practice
