Leader Education are excited to be recruiting a passionate and dedicated Mental Health and SEND Learning Support Assistant to join a large, nurturing SEND school in Peterlee. This inspiring school supports children and young people aged 2–19 years and is proud of its warm, welcoming ethos. With a recent “Good” rating from Ofsted, the academy continues to provide a vibrant, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where every student is supported to achieve their very best. The Role

  • Monday to Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm
  • Long-term position with the potential to become permanent following a successful trial

We're Looking For Someone Who:

  • Holds an Enhanced DBS (or is willing to obtain one)
  • Has relevant educational experience or a background in supporting SEND (desirable)
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Is adaptable and committed to meeting diverse student needs
  • Builds positive, supportive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Understands the importance of safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare
  • Can confidently support pupils in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities
