About the Role: Leader Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate professional to join a specialist SEND school in South Tyneside. The successful candidate will support pupils with a range of severe learning difficulties, including complex and profound needs, across ages 2 to 19. The school is a nurturing, educational and therapeutic community that tailors teaching and learning to each pupil while encouraging personal growth, confidence, and independence.
Responsibilities:
- Support students inside and outside the classroom, assisting with personalised learning activities, promoting positive behaviour, and creating a safe, engaging, inclusive learning environment.
- Work closely with teachers and other professionals to implement individual education plans (IEPs).
- Support communication and social development, assist with personal care when required (training provided).
- Encourage pupils to develop life skills and independence.
