Leader Education are recruiting a Special Needs Learning Support Assistant to work at a large SEND school based in Peterlee. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting students with SEND and/or PMLD. The school has ages ranging from 2 – 19-year-old and pride themselves on being a warm and welcoming academy that helps to secure the best possible outcomes for their students.
Their latest Ofsted rating was presented as \”Good\” as they continue to create a vibrant, enjoyable and inclusive space for children.
The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30am until 4.30pm and is a long-term position, given a successful trial.
The Successful Candidate Will Have
- An Enhanced DBS or be willing to gain one
- Educational background or work experience relevant to the position is desirable
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Adaptability and a commitment to meeting the diverse needs of students
- Good communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
- Understanding of the importance of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- The ability to support the pupil in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities
