About The Role

We are seeking a passionate and creative English Teacher to deliver engaging and accessible lessons for students with a variety of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, communication difficulties, and trauma-related behaviours. As part of a nurturing, multidisciplinary team, your role will involve delivering responsible teaching and supporting pupils in developing literacy, confidence, and creating a positive, therapeutic learning environment.

Responsibilities

  • Planning and teaching inspiring English lessons across Key Stages, tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Supporting pupils in developing literacy, comprehension, and confidence in spoken and written communication.
  • Providing constructive feedback to guide progress and celebrate achievement.
  • Creating a positive, therapeutic learning environment where every child feels valued and safe.
  • Working collaboratively with support staff and therapists to ensure holistic progress for each learner.

  • Qualified – holding QTS or QTLS (essential).
