Leader Education is recruiting a Qualified Teaching Assistant (TA) to work in a mainstream primary school based in Newcastle. The successful TA will support children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), aged 2 to 5 years, working both one-to-one and in small groups. Some of these children may have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). It is essential that the successful TA has recent experience working with children aged 3 to 11, relevant qualifications, or transferable skills gained from a similar role. This school is committed to ensuring that all children are happy, safe, and receive the highest possible standard of education.
The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30am until 3:30pm and is a long-term position.
An ASAP start is available for the Qualified TA who has a DBS on the Update service.
The Successful Candidate Will Have

  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or the willingness to obtain one
  • Experience of working with young children
  • A motivating and supportive presence towards the children
  • An encouraging attitude towards the students by assisting them with their needs within the classroom
  • Clear communication skills
  • An ability to empower the students when reaching achievements or small goals
  • Help to plan classroom activities and prepare materials needed for each lesson
