Overview
Leader Education are recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant to work at a Primary School based in Hebburn. This school caters for EYFS through to KS2. They pride themselves on having an environment where children show respect and kindness to one another. Their vision is to work together, learn together and achieve together. The ideal candidate will have some experience working alongside children and young people in an educational environment. The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30am until 3:30pm and this is a long-term position.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one support to pupils that may require extra support and assist with classroom activities
- Support pupils with SEND in an educational setting, ensuring safeguarding and welfare of children
Qualifications
- An enhanced DBS or be willing to obtain one
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Some experience working alongside children with SEND in an educational setting
- A good understanding of safeguarding and the welfare of children
