Job Title: Primary 1:1 Behaviour Support Assistant
Location: Wakefield, West Yorkshire
Contract Type: Long Term

Leader Education is seeking a dedicated Primary 1:1 Behaviour Support Assistant to work within mainstream and specialist settings in Pontefract. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for supporting young children facing Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges. The successful candidate will provide 1:1 support to students in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, helping them to navigate their education and personal development within a nurturing and structured environment.

Position Details

  • Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm
  • Long-term role with the potential for a permanent position

The Successful Candidate Will Have

  • Experience working with children, especially those with challenging behaviours or additional needs
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to supporting students with SEMH needs on a 1:1 basis
  • Strong communication skills for building effective relationships with students, staff, and parents
