Leader Education are seeking a passionate and motivated Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive SEND school that provides exceptional education and support for children and young people aged 2–19. Working alongside a dedicated and supportive team, you will play a key role in helping students overcome barriers to learning, improve engagement, build confidence, and develop the skills they need to succeed both in school and beyond. No two days are the same in this rewarding role. The role involves:
- Supporting pupils both inside and outside the classroom, encouraging positive behaviour, engagement, and emotional wellbeing at all times.
- Helping students develop confidence, resilience, and independence, while contributing to a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
- Working closely with teaching staff, families, and external professionals to ensure each pupil receives consistent and effective support tailored to their individual needs.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience supporting children or young people, ideally within a SEND or alternative provision setting, along with a strong understanding of inclusive education and student‑centred support.
- Excellent communication skills, patience, empathy, and a consistently positive attitude, with the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with young people.
- A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs is essential, as is a firm commitment to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of all students.
