Overview

Leader Education are seeking a dedicated and compassionate professional to join a specialist SEND school in South Tyneside. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting pupils with a range of severe learning difficulties, including complex and profound needs, across the ages of 2 to 19. The school describes itself as a “nurturing, educational and therapeutic community”, where every aspect of teaching and learning is tailored to meet the individual needs of each pupil while encouraging personal growth, confidence, and independence.

Responsibilities

  • The role will involve supporting students both inside and outside of the classroom, assisting with the delivery of personalised learning activities, promoting positive behaviour, and helping to create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Responsibilities will also include working closely with teachers and other professionals to implement individual education plans (IEPs), supporting communication and social development, assisting with personal care where required (training provided), and encouraging pupils to develop life skills and independence.
