Leader Education are currently recruiting for a compassionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic SEND Support Assistant to join a specialist SEND school in South Tyneside.
Location: South Tyneside. Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm. Position is long‑term temporary.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of children and young people aged 2–19 with severe learning difficulties, including pupils with complex and profound needs. Staff work closely together to provide tailored support that promotes confidence, independence, communication, and personal development.
Responsibilities
- Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs on a 1:1 and small group basis
- Assisting teachers in delivering engaging and personalised learning activities
- Supporting communication, social interaction, and emotional wellbeing
- Encouraging independence and the development of essential life skills
- Assisting with personal care and mobility needs where required (full training provided)
- Creating a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment for all pupils
