Leader Education is recruiting Teaching Assistants to work in schools and alternative provisions across Greater Manchester. The Role
This is a full‑time (Monday–Friday), long‑term position supporting students across primary, secondary, or specialist settings.
You Will
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with additional needs
- Support students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism (ASC), ADHD, or learning difficulties
- Build positive relationships to encourage engagement and trust
- Assist teachers in delivering structured and inclusive lessons
- Support emotional regulation and behaviour management
- Help create a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment
- Encourage the development of social skills, confidence, and independence
About You
This Role Is Ideal For Someone Who:
- Holds a degree in Psychology (or a related field)
- Has a genuine interest in child development, behaviour, and mental health
- Is patient, empathetic, and resilient in challenging situations
- Can build strong relationships and set clear boundaries
- Is proactive, adaptable, and keen to learn
- Is considering a future career in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Teaching, or SEN support
- Previous experience with children or young people (e.g. tutoring, mentoring, care, or coaching) is beneficial but not essential.
