Leader Education are seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join a SEND school in Yorkshire. The role involves supporting pupils aged 3 to 16 with a range of specific learning difficulties, making a strong understanding of EHCPs essential. The school has been commended by Ofsted for delivering high-quality learning experiences within a warm, welcoming, and inspiring environment, where staff go above and beyond to support every pupil. Operating across both primary and secondary sites, the school offers an inclusive and nurturing community that supports the well-being and development of both students and staff. The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30 until 16:30 and is a long-term position.
The Successful Candidate Will
- Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update system or a willingness to obtain one
- Have relevant experience – with SEND or vulnerable individuals
- Establish a supportive and consistent relationship, promoting a positive learning experience
- Develop a knowledge and understanding of the academic, emotional, and behavioural needs of the child and respond to these effectively
- Be flexible and resilient
- Possess good classroom skills
