Leader Education are recruiting a HLTA for a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school, working with children and young people with complex behavioural and emotional needs. The school supports pupils aged 6-16 who require additional support to succeed in both their education and personal development. The provision focuses on helping pupils successfully reintegrate into mainstream education, giving them the best possible chance to succeed, no matter what challenges they may face. This school ensures that all pupils receive the guidance and opportunities needed to achieve their full potential.

The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:00am until 4pm.

The Successful HLTA Will

  • Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or a willingness to obtain one
  • Hold a HLTA qualification
  • Have previous experience working in a similar role within an educational setting
  • Implement strategies to manage behaviour positively and consistently
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Work with pupils on both a 1:1 basis and in group settings, communicating effectively
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of the curriculum through lesson planning and delivery
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists and other teams to create a holistic supportive environment for pupils
