Leader Education is seeking a caring and dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a school in Hexham, Northumberland. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) by providing tailored support to help them achieve their full potential. The working hours are Monday-Friday 8:30-3:30.

The Role

  • Supporting pupils with SEND in the classroom on a 1:1 or small group basis
  • Assisting teachers with lesson delivery and classroom management
  • Supporting pupils’ learning, social, and emotional development
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in learning
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals

The Ideal Candidate Will

  • Have experience working with children with SEND (desirable but not essential)
  • Be patient, nurturing, and adaptable
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Hold a DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one
  • Be committed to supporting pupils to reach their full potential
