Leader Education are recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to work at a SEND school based in Harrogate. This school caters for children aged 2‑19 years old and offers exceptional guidance for students with PMLD, ASC and elements of challenging behaviour. The school’s most recent Ofsted report was presented as “Good” as it continues to be a warm and welcoming school where students can thrive.
The normal working pattern for this school is 8:45 to 3:50 pm and would be a long‑term role given a successful trial day.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- An enhanced DBS on the updated service or willing to obtain one
- Experience working in a transferable role
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Some experience working with or alongside pupils that have SEND
- A compassionate, resilient and patient personality
- A great understanding of safeguarding and the welfare of children and young people
- Familiarity with some tailored interventions and programmes used to support children and young people with PMLD, ASC, and/or challenging behaviour
