About the Role
- To specialise in leading and delivering English up to GCSE to KS3 and KS4 aged pupils with ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition) and additional needs.
- We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher that has experience teaching pupils with ASC and additional behavioural needs to join a specialist team within a new school opening in September 2026.
- As part of a nurturing and innovative team, your responsibilities will include:
- Teaching and supporting students with a range of special educational needs (SEN).
- Teach pupils aged KS3 and KS4.
- Delivering engaging and tailored English lessons to individual learning needs.
- Setting, marking and providing constructive feedback on assignments, homework, and assessments.
- Supporting pupils in gaining a strong command of spoken and written English, enabling them to communicate confidently and effectively.
Ideal Candidate
- Passionate about working with students with SEND needs.
- Specialism in teaching English is essential.
- Experienced – ideally with at least 2 years in a SEND environment or similar setting supporting pupils with ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition) and additional needs, including mainstream schools.
- Qualified – QTS is essential.
- Understands EHCPs and autism-informed practice.
- Calm, organised and passionate about teaching and making a difference.
