Leader Education is seeking a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 Support Assistant to work with children with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) and challenging behaviour at a school in Cramlington, Northumberland. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s educational journey by providing individualised support and helping them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Working Hours
Monday–Friday: 8:30am – 3:00pm
The Role
- Providing 1:1 support to a child with SEND, ensuring their safety and engagement in learning
- Supporting pupils with challenging behaviour in line with school behaviour policies
- Assisting teachers with lesson delivery and learning activities
- Encouraging social, emotional, and academic development
- Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals
The Ideal Candidate Will
- Have experience working with children with SEND and challenging behaviour (desirable but not essential)
- Be patient, resilient, and adaptable
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Hold a DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one
- Be committed to helping children reach their full potential
