Leader Education are seeking an enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join an Ofsted-ranked Outstanding school that supports children aged 3-19. In this role, you will work closely with children with SEND, including those with PMLD, speech, language and communication needs, as well as physical and sensory needs. You will assist pupils in overcoming barriers to learning by providing targeted support, implementing specialist strategies, and helping access a well-resourced curriculum. Pupils at this school follow a primary-based model of learning.

The standard working hours are Monday to Thursday from 8:40 am to 3:40 pm, and Friday from 8:40 am to 2:40 pm, totaling 31.5 hours per week. Leader Education are dedicated to ensuring that we find adaptable roles and schedules that work effectively for you.

Responsibilities:

  • Possess a current DBS that is on the update system, or be willing to obtain one
  • Have relevant/transferable skills and experience
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering specialist teaching and interventions
  • Help maintain a safe, supportive and stimulating learning environment
  • Work closely with the pupils, supporting them with their communication, social and emotional skills
  • Display excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with pupils, parents, and all members of staff
  • Be adaptable and committed to meeting the diverse needs of students
